Jiří Pelcl (1950) is a Czech architect, designer, professor, and former rector of UMPRUM. He wants things to be useful, helpful, and inexpensive. Every part of them should have a purpose, or else it has no place there. He works with metal, glass, wood, textiles, and paper. He has designed buildings, interiors, glasses, chairs, and even a worm composter for apartments. He lives and works in Prague.
