Václav Sivko

Václav Sivko (1923 – 1974) was a Czech painter, graphic artist, illustrator and scenographer. From 1942 to 1943 he studied at the National School for Graphic Arts and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. From 1944 to 1945 he was an assistant in the studio of Josef Sudek. In the post-war years he worked as an editor for a number of magazines. He was art director at the publishing houses Mladá fronta (1956 – 1965) and Albatros (1967 – 1968).
