Filip HORNÍK (1989) is an illustrator and graphic designer. Graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Kremnica, in Toy Design studio. Later he graduated from the Studio of Product Design under the guidance of František Burian and doctoral studies at the Studio of Art Design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. An internship at the University of Plymouth – Studio Design in England also contributed to his professional growth. Currently engaged in book and magazine illustration for children, as well as free illustration and graphic design. With his work, he contributes to the Slovak magazines Bublina and Slniečko, in which he is a co-creator of the legendary character of Jožko Mrkvička. His illustrations have been part of many exhibitions around Europe. He is a member of the Association of Illustrators (ASIL). He lives and works in Smolenice, small village under the mysterious Carpathian mountains.
